Abuse and kidnap rumour untrue
NASA apologise unreservedly for any distress or concern caused by information being relayed without consultation or corroboration to NASA clubs and coaches on 16th February 2017.
A rumour circulating this week has proven to be untrue and the following statement has been issued jointly
by Corby Council and Northamptonshire Police
“Corby Borough Council and Northamptonshire Police wish to put on record that no criminal incidents have been reported to have occurred today close to Corby East Midlands International Swimming Pool and the alleged incidents are completely unfounded.
We hope this reassures our customers and community”
The statement was updated following comments on social media
“Corby Borough Council and Northamptonshire Police are aware of information that has been circulating today on social media about two incidents of sexual abuse and kidnap in the area of Corby East Midlands International Swimming Pool. We wish to put on record that no incidents of this nature have been reported to have occurred today close to the swimming pool. Northamptonshire Police investigates all reports of sexual abuse and would urge anyone who has been a victim of this or any crime to report it to police. We hope this reassures our customers and community”
